HEC Global Learning Centre Details

HEC Global Learning Centre works in five main areas:

We have a resource centre with materials for primary and secondary schools and we work closely with Tower Hamlets Schools Library Service.Bengal StoryTent

We produce learning resources including: Global Leaflets, Global Boxes, StoryTents

and publications such as Bangladeshi Children in our schools; Storyworlds; We live In the East End; the big book Play on the Line and the board game Locococo.

We offer a range of packages for pupils, and training for teachers including:
• Critical thinking and pupil led enquiry through Philosophy for Children (P4C)
• Children's rights, participation and school councils
• ICT (digital video, animation and web-page development)
• Sustainable schools and carbon reduction
• Literacy, values and skills through global stories
• Online perception mapping with children
• School Linking - locally, nationally and internationally

We also provide training and advice on a range of global development and sustainability issues for teachers and other educators.

Partners: including Local Authorities, Initial Teacher Education institutions, Development NGOs and other organisations
